Peace-building, Reconstruction, and Rehabilitation

This will cover such engagements, initiatives, and activities as: 

  • Reconciliation and reintegration in conflict-affected communities;
  • Community dialogues – to foster social cohesion; reduce conflict, and enhanced enduring peaceful co-existence;
  • Holding Peace Events: Sports for peace, cultural activities for social cohesion;
  • Building capacity for gender-sensitive peace and sustainable development;
  • Early warning and response – supporting activities of conflict monitors, analysts, and mediators; setting up a gender-sensitive EWER at the community levels; linking up with the grassroots, local, state, and national peace architecture;
  • Supporting peacebuilding Activities of Peace Clubs in educational institutions;
  • Environmental sustainability, climate-smart agriculture, food and nutrition security;
  • Sub-granting/funding of work plans of community (traditional, women, and youth) leaders to implement peacebuilding strategies;
  • Linkages with peace-building agencies, and academic institutions on mutually beneficial relationships towards sustainable peace and development;
  • Learning visits to Peace Institutes of post-conflict nations, to under-study lessons learned and best practices.
