PROFILE OF DIDI NDIOMU

Mr. Didi Ndiomu is the Group Managing Director of Quinn McGrath Group Nigeria, an indigenous company with interests in manufacturing, oil and gas services, exploration and consulting.

Didi holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Maiduguri and began his career in 1994 as an Operations Executive at Binan Nigeria Limited; a logistics company that specialized in the movement of crude oil from onshore production locations to export terminals.

Through unwavering commitment and agility, Mr. Ndiomu rose through the ranks to become General Manager, Operations after nine years and thereafter founded Bronwen Energy Trading limited (BETL). In a space of two years, BETL became one of the largest indigenous petroleum trading companies in Nigeria with an annual turnover of over USD$2 billion.

Passionate about changing the narrative of Africa and Nigeria’s industrialization by building a competitive manufacturing engineering sector in the country and continent at large. Mr. Ndiomu led Quinn McGrath Group’s acquisition of Nigerian Machine Tools Limited (NMTL) after the Federal Governments Privatization of the company in 2007.

Under his leadership, NMTL secured its ISO certification in 2014. In 2015, it earned its first OEM approval status after its audit and qualification by the Shell Companies in Nigeria, for the production of stud bolts and nuts. In 2016 Exxon Mobil Producing Nigeria Unlimited and the Nigeria Liquified Natural Gas company also qualified NMTL as an approved OEM for stud bolts and nuts. In 2017, NMTL secured approval from the Shell Companies in Nigeria as an OEM for Flanges and was eventually listed in its TAMAP list in 2021. In 2018 Chevron Nigeria Limited qualified NMTL as an approved OEM for Stud Bolts and Flanges. Total Energies joined the qualification train in 2020 with its approval of NMTL as an OEM for Stud Bolts and Flanges. Currently, NMTL is at the initiation stage of its Valve Assembly & testing program, following a joint

Venture Technical Partnership agreement signed with AMPO Valves of Spain in Q4 2021.

Mr. Ndiomu is widely recognized for his successful diversification of NMTL and today, the company is a leading integrated engineering and manufacturing company offering exceptional engineering solutions within the manufacturing industries and engineering sector in Nigeria

In 2017, Mr. Ndiomu led efforts toward positioning the Quinn McGrath Group as a key player in the industrialization of the agribusiness sector of the Nigerian economy, by establishing Quinn McGrath Farms and Food Limited. The establishment of the companies has translated into huge investments made so far, in the agriculture value chain in Nigeria.

The over 3,000 hectares of land for animal husbandry and farming continue to satisfy, the needs of a growing number of aggregators and processors under various offtake arrangements. Thereby, expanding rural farming and helping to diversify the economy. The investment is a solid demonstration of Mr. Ndiomu’s desire to play a pivotal and influential role in Nigeria’s agricultural renaissance.

An astute businessman with an insatiable quest for knowledge, Mr. Ndiomu, has attended numerous business development and management courses within and outside Nigeria. He is currently a director in several companies including Tank Farm Services Nigeria Limited, Bridgestone Nigeria Limited, Nigeria Machine Tools Limited, BDS Energy Services Limited, Drake & Sean Nigeria Limited, Satellite Oil and Gas limited, Quinn McGrath Farms, Quinn McGrath Foods, Quinn McGrath Environmental Services Limited and Badagry Ports Development Limited.

HON. USMAN SHEHU BAWA

Honourable Usman Shehu Bawa popularly known as Shehu ABG, is a Nigerian politician and Entrepreneur who was a member of the House of Representatives representing Kaduna North constituency. Bawa was born in Nigeria’s northern city of Kaduna. He is the son of Alhaji Bawa Garba, the founder of Nigeria’s ABG Group. He started his primary education at the Kaduna Polytechnic staff school. He was later transferred to Kaduna Capital School, where he completed his early education. He began his secondary education at Sardauna Memorial College then later on transferred to Essence International School, completing his secondary education in 1993. In 1999, Bawa completed a bachelor’s degree in geography at Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria.

 

He started his early professional career working in his father’s communication firm, ABG Communications. Later, he started a number of firms including GSM.COM Limited and Top desk International Limited. While GSM.COM Limited sought to exploit opportunities in the newly deregulated telecommunications industry in 2001, Top Desk International Limited set out as a business consultancy and procurement firm. Bawa, later on, took a job as general manager of an agricultural firm – Agric Supermarket Limited, a business in which he was a co-founder before delving into politics.

 

Bawa was appointed as Deputy Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Communications. The committee has oversight responsibility for the Federal Ministry of Communications Technology and its subsidiary agencies including the Nigerian Communications Commission and Nigerian Postal Service. During the time he was acting Chairman of the Communications Committee in 2011, Bawa chaired the subcommittee that was set up to investigate the SIM Card Registration exercise superintended by the NCC. Usman was also a member of some other committees including Diaspora, Navy Banking & Currency, Gas Resources, Electoral Matters, Health, Legislative Compliance, and Solid Minerals Development.
