Our foundation has the objective of transforming communities through selfless service and leadership.

The General Ibrahim Attahiru Foundation (GIAF) is an independent and non-partisan foundation named after the late Chief of Army Staff (COAS) of Nigeria, Lieutenant General Ibrahim Attahiru, who passed away on the 21st of May 2021, while on active duty in the service of Nigeria.

 

The Foundation is set up to ensure the perpetuation of the ideals and qualities he embodied both as a military service leader and in his personal life as a man of integrity, generosity, kindness of heart expressed in the various ways he helped fellow Nigerians.

GIAF prioritizes the improvement of Nigeria as a country, and welfare of Nigerians as a people. We encourage cooperation to support the most vulnerable in society, and are neither driven by personal gain nor profit.

GIAF is guided by the principle of integrity, a trait that epitomizes the late Lt. Gen Ibrahim Attahiru. In this regard, we pursue the highest ethical and professional standards, and endeavor to be above reproach. Thus, GIAF ensures that its operations and partnerships are carried out in a transparent and accountable manner.

Accountability

GIAF works in collaboration with our target beneficiaries and we are accountable to them in carrying out interventions. Our interventions are carried out based on the four (4) core humanitarian principles of humanity, impartiality, neutrality, and independence.
